THINGS TO DO IN LAGUNA BEACH
The artist colony of Laguna Beach is one of Orange County’s hidden gems, located halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. The city’s topography is unique to other California coastal cities with its seven miles of coves and beaches where visitors can explore sea caves, tide pools, ocean side bluffs, natural tide pools and of course, sandy beaches, all within city limits. Laguna Beach also boasts the most beachfront lodging options in all of California, making it an ideal spot for a beach getaway.
Beyond the beach, the city is home to more than 20,000 beautiful acres of protected wilderness, making it an optimal location for adventurous exploration. From world-renowned mountain biking trails for all levels of expertise, hundreds of miles of hiking, dramatic vistas, verdant hills and marine sanctuaries, there’s no limit of new places to discover during a visit to Laguna Beach. Pack your flip flops and surfboard or hiking shoes and water bottles, either way, Laguna Beach and all its options are awaiting your arrival.
ARTS & CULTURE
An art colony from its roots, Laguna Beach has a number of committees that not only look after Laguna’s natural loveliness, but help create and place art in public places, from lamppost banner originals by our local artists to towering edifices and street corner art just about everywhere you look. Laguna Beach is well-known for its famous art festivals, but there are many other offerings throughout the year that will stimulate the "artist" in you, such as gallery exhibits, art classes, First Thursdays Art Walk, and public art.
NIGHTLIFE
After enjoying dinner and drinks at one of our many incredible restaurants, there’s still a lot more to see and do before calling it quits. If you’re enjoying the atmosphere at dinner, not to worry because many of our local restaurants are open well past 10 p.m. so there’s no need to rush through dinner.
For those inspired to see more outside of the restaurant scene, Laguna Beach has a number of live music and club action, from electronic dance music at the popular Brussels Bistro to rock music at the renowned Marine Room, Skyloft or Sandpiper (“The Dirty Bird” to locals), and Reggae music at The White House and Mozambique.
BEACHES
As the only marine reserve in Southern California, Laguna Beach is renown for its pristine waters, abundant sea life and of course, perfect beaches. Laguna Beach is also one of the only SoCal destinations where you can stay at a hotel right on the beach…and in fact, Laguna boasts more beachfront lodging than any other city in the state
